Marpor I
It is a small tanker vessel designed and built to supply fuel for the self-consumption of all types of vessels on the Lower Paraná River.
Fueling with our vessel will save navigation time to and from the few existing loading terminals with the capacity to provide this service.
It has been built in compliance with all the requirements of the Argentine Coast Guard (Prefectura Naval Argentina - PNA) for vessels of its type, is certified by RINA (Registro Italiano Navale), and meets the equipment standards recommended by the Oil Company International Marine Forum (OCIMF). Since 1973, OCIMF has issued recommendations for environmental protection, safety of personnel, and safe operations on tankers, oil terminals, and the interface between ships and terminals.
The vessel has a total capacity of 260 cbm distributed across 8 tanks, equipped with two segregation cargo pumps, and a third pneumatic pump. It can load at a maximum flow rate of 250 cbm/h and deliver fuel at a flow rate between 70 cbm/h and 200 cbm/h.
To mitigate the risk of product spills, the vessel is equipped with the following systems:
- High level alarms for cargo tanks.
- Continuous monitoring of cargo tanks with readings from the navigation bridge and from the deck.
- 150 mm high perimeter cofferdam around the entire perimeter of the cargo tanks.
- Procedures applicable to cargo loading and delivery operations that follow OCIMF guidelines.
- Operations managed by personnel trained in accordance with Coast Guard requirements.
To mitigate the risk to people and fire during operations in the cargo pump room, it has been equipped with:
- Continuous monitoring with a combustible gas alarm in the pump room.
- High temperature sensors in the housing and bearings of the cargo pumps.
- High level bilge alarm in the pump room.
The vessel has propulsion engines of 180 hp each, with gearboxes to two independent propeller lines, which allows it great maneuverability and a maximum speed of 10 km/h at full load.
Its mooring system has been designed according to OCIMF standards, with an adequate number of double bollards and closed fairleads, ensuring safe mooring for terminal operations and vessel supply operations.
